We are opening our doors this week, and closely watching both State and City decisions and CDC/DHEC recommendations regarding safely operating our retail space.
Yesterday our governor closed all non-essential businesses in South Carolina to help fight the spread of the coronavirus. We applaud his decision. Evidently, though, he shares our view that books are vital to human happiness since bookstores did not make his list of closures. We can stay open, but we shouldn’t. Sheltering in place is the right thing to do right now—for our staff, for our community, and for our country.
Starting today, our sales floor will be closed to the public. We are offering curbside pickup (864-577-9349) from 10-5, home delivery within 5 miles, and free shipping from hubcity.org/books. Our clerks will be answering phones to take orders or give recommendations and keeping our store stocked. Check our social media for daily recommendations, messages from our favorite authors, and further updates.
