What's Up in the Hub

Welcome to What's Up in the Hub: our Hub City Press author roundup! We're checking in with our authors' happenings and keeping you updated on what they've got coming up.

September marked the publication of George Singleton's long-awaited selected short stories collection, You Want More, which has received three starred reviews so far: Shelf AwarenessKirkus Reviews, and Publishers Weekly. His event schedule included familiar faces like our own Ron Rash and Ashleigh Byrant Phillips.

Our October release, A Measure of Belonging, an anthology edited by Cinelle Barnes, was a New York Times New & Noteworthy pick. It was also featured in Paperback Paris 10 Most-Anticipated New Books Of October 2020 and Garden & Gun.

Listen to one of our AMOB contributors, Anjali Enjeti, in a podcast for The Polis Project discussing voting rights for South Asians in the upcoming election. We are set to publish Anjali Enjeti's debut novel, The Parted Earth, in May 2021.

Carter Sickels' The Prettiest Star saw a mention in the Women's National Book Association's Great Group Reads.

Another short story collection, Sleepovers by Ashleigh Bryant Phillips, was one of the 4 books on Dennis Cooper's blog that he recently read and loved. Check out her interview in Believer Mag.

Not one but two Hub City authors, Scott Gould and Jessica Handler, will discuss his newest book Wherabouts in a virtual event on October 21st at 7PM.
