Spartanburg, SC—Hub City Press is pleased to announce it has been selected as a Poetry Foundation Fall 2023 Grant Awardee for a Poetry Program award of $20,000. This grant is one of 26 grants given to nonprofit organizations, selected from 151 applications, that provides a total of $875,000 in funding to grantee-partners by increasing access to poetry and providing support to historically underserved poets and writers, educational activities for youth, festivals, writing workshops for adults, residencies, publications, and more.
Hub City Press will use this Poetry Program Funding to create a first-of-its-kind poetry series specifically spotlighting poets of color in the South starting in the spring of 2024. This new will be the first poetry series meant specifically to uplift and champion Southern ALAANA poets working in the region today. There will be no fee associated with submitting to this series. More information about the full submissions guidelines will be provided soon.
