About the Book

The Seasons of Staying, told through poetry and short prose, traces the patterns of emotional abuse inside a coercive control relationship — from love bombing to gaslighting, isolation, and trauma bonding—through the loss of self and its slow return. 

About the Author

Michelle Lesley is an Upstate South Carolina author and registered nurse with more than 25 years experience — and has lived the intersection of mental health, domestic violence, and coercive control first hand. The Seasons of Staying is her debut book. Michelle supports efforts to raise awareness of domestic violence and coercive control.
