Junk Journaling: Art of Living Slowly

July 18th 2026 | 10:30 PM - 1:00 PM

Continue our series on the art of living slowly with this month's session: Junk Journaling.

Traditionally, a junk journal is handmade using repurposed second-hand materials — greeting cards, old book pages, scraps of paper, etc... Today most journalers use their preferred pre-bound journal and let creativity flow.

Similar to scrapbooking, junk journaling uses the overlooked everyday items to record memories, visualize ideas, or create beautiful spreads. A ticket from your trip to the state fair, the label from the unique wine bottle shared with friends, the branded coffee shop napkin from your latest day-trip, or a themed spread to go along with your favorite musician's latest album release... There is no one way to journal.

Join us at the Hub City Press office on 153 N Spring Street and share with fellow creatives. Bring your journal, your favorite tools and materials. Take a minute to slow down, breathe, and create.

Our experimental series on living slowly seeks to create community while disconnecting from screens and engaging in the creative process whether it be through letter writing, postcards, collaging, and more. If you enjoy these events, we would love to hear from you!

Space is limited. Please RSVP if you plan to attend.

PARKING: The nearest and best location to park is at the Magnolia Parking Garage on 100 N Church Street.
