FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT in Support of Hub City Bookshop

FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT in Support of Hub City Bookshop

April 27th 2022 | 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM

The Hub City Writers Project and FR8yard invite you to a family movie night in support of your local independent nonprofit bookshop and press. We'll be screening the '80s romantic comedy The Princess Bride, starring Cary Elwes, Robin Wright, Many Patinkin, Billy Crystal, Wallace Shawn, Fred Savage, and André the Giant. Inconceivable! Come watch on FR8yard's giant screen!

Meet Vizzini -- the criminal philosopher who'll do anything for a bag of gold; Fezzik -- the gentle giant; Inigo -- the Spaniard whose steel thirsts for revenge; and Count Rugen -- the evil mastermind. Foiling all of their plans and jumping into their stories is Westley, Princess Buttercup's one true love and a very good friend of a dangerous pirate. This romantic comedy classic is full of adventure the whole family is sure to love!

Come watch the movie, have a beer, and celebrate the community-building power of independent bookstores under the stars with all your friends from Hub City Bookshop and Press! We’ll have copies of The Princess Bride, as well as Hub City Writers Project t-shirts, tote bags, and broadsides made by Converse College students.

This event is free, with a $10 suggested donation. For your $10, you'll get popcorn and some free goodies. Memberships will also be available for a special on-the-night price of $15. Our basic membership provides discounts of 10-25% on all merchandise in the Hub City Bookshop, as well as discounts on our workshops and conferences. All at-the-door donations and memberships benefit the Hub City Writers Project.
