The Cold Mountain Fund Series publishes literary fiction in hardback, funded and supported by Charles Frazier, best-selling author of “Cold Mountain” and “Varina,” through the Frazier family’s Cold Mountain Fund at the Community Foundation of Western North Carolina. Frazier also will assist in book promotion and make occasional appearances with the Cold Mountain Fund Series authors. Cold Mountain funds primarily will be targeted for more substantial book advances and for book marketing.
“I have long considered Hub City Press to be one of the very finest independent publishers in the country and am excited to help foster their already excellent offerings of literary fiction,” Frazier says. “Finding an audience has never been easy for writers of literary fiction, so in working with Hub City, my hope is to help amplify distinctive Southern voices and connect them with curious readers.”
Books published in this series have appeared in Wall Street Journal, San Francisco Chronicle, Garden & Gun, Entertainment Weekly, O, the Oprah Magazine, and more, noted in NPR and Kirkus Best Books of the Year lists, have won or been nominated for the Southern Book Prize, Crooks Corner Book Prize, Langum Prize for Historical Fiction, the Texas Writers League Award.
