Hub City/Emrys Writing Prize


The Hub City/Emrys Writing Prize is awarded to writers in Spartanburg, Greenville, and Polk counties for excellence in poetry and nonfiction. Winners receive full scholarships to the Writing in Place Conference, held in July at Wofford College. This contest is sponsored annually by the Hub City Writers Project of Spartanburg and the Emrys Foundation of Greenville. 

Rules: All entries must be received by midnight March. 15. You must be at least 18 years of age to enter and a resident of Greenville, Spartanburg, or Polk County, NC. Submit one unpublished prose piece or poem of no more than 10 double-spaced pages, 12-point type. Previous winners may not submit in the year following their award. You can make only one submission. Please do not put your name or other identifying information anywhere on the manuscript. 

Submissions: January 1 - March 15 annually (alernating fiction/poetry, fiction/nonfiction)
