The Writers' Prescription: Microfiction and Microbrews with Brock Adams

The Writers' Prescription: Microfiction and Microbrews with Brock Adams

November 4th 2019 | 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM

Join us on November 4th for our monthly writing group led by staff and local writers! Writers Rx is a series of Hub City crash courses in writing held on the first Monday of every month.

In November, Hub City Bookshop and Little River Coffee will host Author and USC Upstate Writing Professor Brock Adams to lead a workshop on Flash Fiction - delving into the senses and surfacing with a workable short story. This group is open to Hub City Bookshop members and donors. Not a Hub City member yet? No problem. Come along, and speak to a bookseller about membership!

This month, enjoy a unique Writers Rx session with Brock Adams: Microfiction and Microbrews.

A distinct flavor can ignite the brain, triggering vivid memories and emotions - a world in a cup of coffee. A great work of microfiction - a story under three hundred words - can inspire similar feelings. But can a flavor inspire a story? In this tasting workshop, Brock Adams, author of many works of flash fiction as well as the prize-winning novel Ember, leads a series of microfiction exercises, each paired with a different coffee. Join him to see where this flight of flavors takes your writing!
