The board of the Hub City Writers Project met in The Showroom February 27, 2007. They approved publication of a history of Spartanburg Methodist College and discussed upcoming publication of Stars Fell on Spartanburg. The board received updates on building issues and will soon begin long-range planning.

New Chairperson Melissa Walker presided over her first official meeting January 23, 2007 when the board met for its monthly meeting at The Showroom. Items discussed included a move toward long-range planning, reprints of two titles and a new website for Hub City. Also: The Showroom intends to tweak program offerings, and the Artist-in-Residence program prepares for a new round of applicants.

The board of the Hub City Writers Project met September 26, 2006. Plans were laid for filling eight open board positions. Stephen Long reported on The Showroom, and Peter Caster reported on the Hub-Bub Film Society. The board got word of another big award and prepared for primetime book-selling season.

After a brief summer break, the Hub City board met on August 22, 2006, to hear that the funding situation was good and to get an update on the initial activities at the Showroom. The board voted to name Melissa Walker president-elect and discuss new book projects in the pipeline. |

The board of the Hub City Writer Project met for the first time at its new building on June 26, 2006. The Hub-Bub artists in residence were in attendance, fresh from the wave of publicity in local media about their arrival. Betsy announced that Stephen Long has been hired as Showroom manager and gave reports on the concert an the writers conference. |
