Welcome to hubcity.org

The Hub City Writers Project of Spartanburg, South Carolina, is focused on the literature of place. A non-profit independent press and literary arts organization, Hub City publishes place-based books and sponsors readings, writing seminars and contests.

And this year's lead title will be ...
Our lead fall title this year will be Spartanburg Revisited: A Second Look at the Photographs of Alfred and Bob Willis. This father-son photography team documented almost 80 years of Spartanburg history: its landmarks, colorful characters, and momentous occasions. This forthcoming book, with an introduction written by Emily L. Smith, tells the story of the charismatic men behind the images and revisits their iconic work with new color photographs by Carroll Foster and Mark Olencki.  Spartanburg Revisited

Spartanburg Revisited will be published in paperback and in a limited edition of 300 hardback collector's editions. The collector's edition is only available as a premium to donors of at least $100. To reserve one of these books, click the DONATE button in the left column of this page. Or, send a check to Hub City, PO Box 8421, Spartanburg SC 29305.

For a tax-deductible contribution of at least $100 you can get:

  • One of the 300 limited edition hardback copies delivered to you. These books will not be sold at retail, and this is your only opportunity to get one!

  • Your name listed in the front as a sponsor if your donation is made by June 25, 2007. Larger donations receive a larger profile in this list - please see self enclosed envelope for other details.

  • The opportunity to purchase an unlimited number of paperback copies of Spartanburg Revisited at a 25 percent discount.

The board of the Hub City Writers Project thanks you for your contribution, which helps underwrite this book, plus all Hub City programs.
