Our publications committee looks for literary or nonfiction books with a strong sense of place. We review manuscript proposals in March and September and have a particular interest in books from Upstate South Carolina.

Pat Jobe
Pat Jobe is a columnist, humorist, TV host, singer-songwriter, published author, and a former preacher and truck-driver. He is the co-author of two Hub City books, The Best of Radio Free Bubba (1998) and The Return of Radio Free Bubba (2005). Currently, Jobe hosts The Connection, an independent television program dedicated to exploring various issues that affect South Carolina residents.  pat jobe

A native of South Carolina, Jobe's work has appeared in numerous publications, including The Charlotte Observer, Point magazine, and The Christian Advocate. He is the recipient of six first-place writing awards from the North Carolina Press Association, as well as The School Bell Award from the North Carolina Education Association. In 2002, he published 365 Ways to Criticize The Preacher, A Very Short Novel.

Jobe's Radio Free Bubba books are used in freshmen composition classes by universities around the country. He has spoken to a wide variety of audiences, including high school baccalaureates; Kiwanis, Lions, and Rotary Clubs; and church congregations throughout the Carolinas.
