A native of Massachusetts,
Norman Powers had a 23-year television and film production career in New York City, prior to relocating to South Carolina. He is a former winner of Hub City's
Hardegree Prize for creative nonfiction (1999). He has also been a contributing
author for the Hub City books In
Morgan's Shadow and Textile Town.

Powers'
play Dottie & Fred, based on the
relationship between Dorothy Parker and Robert Benchley, has been presented at
workshops by North Carolina's Triangle Theater
Festival and The Director's Company in New
York. He is a regular contributor to Bold Life magazine and Carolina Home and Garden.
Currently,
Powers is working on his second novel. He is a resident of Landrum, where he
has lived for the past fifteen years
