Our publications committee looks for literary or nonfiction books with a strong sense of place. We review manuscript proposals in March and September and have a particular interest in books from Upstate South Carolina.

Brenda Lee Pryce

Born on South Liberty Street, Brenda Lee Pryce, is one of the compilers of Hub City's South of Main book (2005). She served as a member of the S.C. House of Representatives from 1995 to 2005 and currently is a member of the regulatory staff and outreach manager of the S.C. Lifeline and Link-up Programs. Brenda also collects books by African-American woman authors.

She is a 1966 graduate of Carver High School and attended the University of South Carolina. She was the 1998 recipient of the E. Lewis Miller Award for leadership in Spartanburg and has served on numerous local boards including the Spartanburg Development Council and the Wofford College President's Advisory Committee.
